Busan, the second-largest city in South Korea and a sister city to Dubai, has beendispatchingthe”EurasiaDiplomaticCorps”everyyearsince2016asapublicdiplomacydelegation.

The “Eurasia Diplomatic Corps,” which includes university students, cultural artists, andbusinesspeoplefromBusan,visitsBusan’ssistercitiesoverseastocarryoutculturalandeconomicexchangeevents.ThemissionistopromoteBusanasaglobalhubcitywidely. This year, the delegation will visit Almaty in Kazakhstan, Tashkent, and Samarkand inUzbekistanbeforeendingtheirjourneyinDubai,Busan’ssistercity.

Thedelegationishostingthe’BusanFestainDubai’eventonSunday,September29,from6:30PMatDubaiFestivalCityMalltocelebratethefriendshipbetweenthetwocities.ThefestivalwillfeatureperformancesbytheBusanMetropolitanTraditionalOrchestraandaTaekwondoperformanceteam,aswellasvariousprizeeventsandactivities.

Nopre-registrationisrequiredtoattend’BusanFestainDubai’.AnyonewholovesKorean cultureiswelcometoparticipateandenjoythefestival.

BusanisSouthKorea’ssecond-largestcity,withapopulationof3.5million,andthecountry’s largest maritime (port) city. Centered around Busan Port, the city has a thrivingmaritime trade and logistics industry and is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitorsfromaroundtheworld.

Dubai,Busan’ssistercity,sharesmanysimilaritieswithBusan.Itisalsohometothelargest portintheMiddleEastandservesasaglobalhubfortourismandfinance.Thetwocitiesestablishedtheirsister-cityrelationshiponNovember13,2006.In2021,tocelebratethe15thanniversaryoftheirpartnership,BusanandDubaiheldajointphotoexhibitionandhostedthe “Lights on! Busan-Dubai” event, where both cities illuminated the landmarks tocommemoratetheanniversary.
